I bought fo4 just after release, I found myself spending more time building settlements to look livable than I did playing the campaign. I realized I was just not engaging with the storyline because I found it boring. Once hard-core came out I started new and tried it again but yet again I found myself at the point I am supposed to build the teleprorter and I turned the game off again thinking "I just don't care." Its been a very long time but I have finally finished the game (sided with bos) and dlc on hard-core mode no mods. I did not enjoy the game as a whole.

Idk if you already finished your playthrough but if you didn't yet i have a suggestion: don't treat Darkwood as a Funger-like. Fear & Hunger is a resource management, Darkwood is time management. Fear & Hunger wants you to exploit it's system and use your knowledge of past experiences and deaths to advance and become "stronger". While Darkwood wants you to respect the place it takes place and fear it, it's a message that appears in the loading screen "be patient and respect the woods". Know your time and organize and test things out, but don't get too crazy like in funger where death is treated like a learning experience. In Darkwood is like: "Learn but also try not to die while learning" (Sorry for the 🤓 moment, love your videos)

So the more and more lore I learn from f&h2 the more and more I’m getting convinced the next game will take place during an/ the apocalypse. The edits to the skin bible seem to serve a few things: 1. Position AlllMer as on same level as an Old God 2. Absolve humanity of the guilt of destroying the nature god (“humans are supposed reap from nature”) 3. Destroy its true name from history, and as basically none would understand the meaning of the new name, none would remember why that name was given. The “editors” don’t want humanity to understand the crime it committed (why? Continuing destruction suits them? Helps Alllmer/The Sulfur God somehow?), and wants to put alllmer on a pedestal.

I was heading towards the hollow tower to defeat perkele and out of nowhere my partners started to transform into moonscorched and I was forced to fight them. I was confused and went looking to find out and I was upset because I couldn't take the team to kick perkele and rher's ass haha ​​there could have been a 4th ending where it's possible to save everyone and face perkele and rher in the end.

So is there like a ingame tell as to how the sewer puzzle works? Or is just trial and error.

the "how did the moonless guard consent" question has two possible answers 1. sylvian being an eldritch god, is going by a weird standard of "consent" that only lines up with our ideas on a few things or 2. since moonless seems significantly more intelligent then a regular dog, its possible they are smart enough to pass the harkness test

the scarabs connection to Sulfur makes sense, when asked about them the new gods will imply they are "condensed wickedness" which certainly fits Sulfur, in addition Scarabs most famous association in real life is with ancient egypt, where they were symbols of the sun, the Sun God is implied to be the god absorbed into All-mer(and by extension Sulfur) the fact Scarabs are dung beetles and the orb that is used to represent the sun is literally poop, could be a crude metaphor for Sulphors creation, All-mer ate the Sun god, and then "shat out" Sulphor, a ruined sun that is now just a disgusting ball of shit

The way I understood it, moonscorch is Rher's "truth". As in, what Rher thinks is the "truth". So, because Rher think all humans are disgusting and irredeemable, all humans become disgusting and irredeemable when moonscorched. Even if that doesn't reflect the actual reality.
